When an epidemic broke out in the area around Neudietendorf in 1828, the local pharmacist Daniel Thraen began making natural products that had been known for their healing effect on the stomach and intestines from ancient times. Surviving two World Wars and DDR State participation starting in 1958, re-privatization and the subsequent founding of the liquor factory Aromatique GmbH on August 15, 1991, the company began a new era in its more than 100-year history. Today they are again an independent family business (18 employees). The "Wald Kobold" is a half bitter likor with 25% alcohol and a mix of spices, also claiming a fruity undertone.
